Following are the eight discussion questions we will use for each book club meeting.
1. World building: Did the created world/rules for the world remain consistent? Was it weaved into our world in a believable way?
2. Was it consistent with historical mythological lore, and if not, were the mythos developed by the author clearly defined?
3. Thoughts on the main character: Were her motivations clear? Was she sympathetic – did we root for her? Was she 3-dimensional? Consistent?.
4. Did the plot pull you in? Was the story line coherent?
5. What was the overall tone? Was there a theme?
6. If one (or more) characters made a choice that had moral implications, would you have made the same decision? Why or why not? Subquestion: Did this moral choice provide any commentary on or relate to our society?
7. At what point in the book did you decide whether or not you liked it? What helped make this decision? Do you recommend it?
